The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released a public notice dated 23 February 2026 announcing the re-opening of the online application portal for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2026. This highly anticipated undergraduate entrance examination will be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from 11 May to 31 May 2026 (tentative) across various examination centers located in India and select cities abroad. This decision comes in response to numerous representations from candidates across the country who requested a further extension of the registration timeline to secure their chances of admission into prestigious central and participating universities.
Initially, the registration portal was active from 03 January to 30 January 2026, followed by a subsequent extension up to 04 February 2026. Recognizing the challenges faced by students who missed these windows, NTA has provided a final, special opportunity to register and pay the application fee. Candidates must note that since this is a special, short-duration re-opening window, no correction facility will be provided after the final submission of application forms. Therefore, accuracy and completeness in filling out the forms are of utmost importance.
