Are you a candidate who has registered for Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 but encountered a mismatch between your photograph and the submitted identity proof documents? Don't worry, we've got the latest updates and guidelines to help you navigate this situation.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the JEE (Main) 2026 in two sessions, and the online application form registration was open from 31 October 2025 to 27 November 2025. Upon completing the application process, a discrepancy was observed in the identity proof documents used by some candidates. This advisory is to inform you of the revised process for resolving this issue and what you need to do next.

• Online application form registration was open from 31 October 2025 to 27 November 2025.
• Certain candidates used identity proof documents other than the Aadhaar Card.
• In some cases, the live photographs captured during the application process did not match with the photographs available with UIDAI.
• Affected candidates are required to upload a signed and attested certificate with a recent photograph certified by School/College Principal or Headmaster.
• Candidates are now permitted to obtain attestation from a Class-l Gazetted Officer, such as Tehsildar, Revenue Officer, SDM, DM, or Class-I Gazetted Officer of the Indian Embassy (for NRI candidates).
• Last date of submission of the certificate in PDF format is 15 January 2026.
• A printed copy of the certificate must be produced at the examination centre for physical verification on the day of the examination.

1. Check if you are affected: Review your submitted identity proof documents and photograph to ensure they match with your records available with UIDAI.
2. Obtain the required certificate: Get a signed and attested certificate with a recent photograph certified by your School/College Principal or Headmaster (or as per revised guidelines by a Class-l Gazetted Officer).
3. Upload the certificate via email: Submit the certificate in PDF format via the link sent to your registered email ID by 15 January 2026.
4. Produce a printed copy on the day of the examination: Bring a printed copy of the certificate to the examination centre for physical verification on the day of the examination.
