CUET-UG 2026: Landmark Allotment Success and Re-allocation Opportunities Announced by NTA
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a significant press release regarding the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate Programmes (CUET-UG) 2026. This year's examination, one of the largest computer-based tests globally, has achieved a remarkable success rate in allotting preferred cities to candidates. Out of the 15,68,866 registered candidates, an overwhelming 96.6% have been successfully allocated to one of their preferred cities. Furthermore, a substantial 79% of these candidates have even secured their first choice of city, highlighting the NTA's efforts in accommodating student preferences.
Despite this high success rate, approximately 3.4% of candidates could not be accommodated in their selected preferences due to capacity constraints in high-demand locations. To address this, the NTA has opened a re-allocation window. Affected candidates are now able to choose from available vacant slots in alternate cities on a first-come, first-serve basis through the official portal, https://cuet.nta.nic.in. This initiative ensures that all candidates have an opportunity to be placed in a suitable examination city, maintaining the integrity and accessibility of the CUET-UG 2026 examination.
